Fall sports are beginning this weekend and will proceed through early November. I know our student athletes and coaches are excited to have a Fall season this year. Due to the current pandemic, and in accordance with our Athletic Reopening Plan, the NYSPHSAA guidance, and the New York State Department of Health, we will not be able to host our school community (students, faculty, & staff) or our larger HCSD community as spectators during athletic events this fall.

The NYSDOH and NYSPHSAA guidance states that districts must limit guests to two (2) spectators per athlete. Each athlete will be given two (2) passes that can be used by their family members at both home and away events. It is important that districts limit the number of spectators at athletic events for the following reasons:

  1. To minimize risk for our athletes, coaches, event personnel and spectators attending.
  2. To respect the guidelines on gathering limitations set forth by state officials.
  3. To conduct our athletic events safely so the season and school remain open.

If you are a spectator at fall athletics events, please be sure to review these spectator guidelines so we can maintain a safe environment.

The Athletic Department, coaches and athletes will miss having our student body, faculty, staff and community members at our contests. The energy, spirit and enthusiasm you have brought to our events in the past will be missed. Thank you for abiding by the gathering limitations. We look forward to welcoming all of you back to athletic contests in the future.
