About Usfield and mountains behind Hudson High School

Located in the heart of Columbia County and overlooking the scenic Hudson River, the Hudson City School District’s three schools cover 50 acres on two campuses approximately half a mile apart. HCSD has nearly 600 employees and serves a diverse student population of about 1,700 (K-12).

The mission of the HCSD, in partnership with our community, is to advance the intellectual, social and emotional development of all students to prepare them for college, career and citizenship.

We provide a variety of academic, extracurricular and civic opportunities to help students develop the essential skills they need to lead successful futures. We strive to support our students as they develop the skills needed for success as college students, working professionals and responsible, contributing citizens.

The Hudson City School Districts hereby advises students, parents, employees and the general public that it offers employment/educational opportunities without regard to sex, race, color, national origin or disability.

About the Area

Hudson provides easy access to two fairly large urban centers (Albany to the north and Kingston to the south) as well as the quaint rural setting of historic Columbia County. Its position as a small city nestled next to rural farmland makes Hudson the best of both worlds.
