School Taxes Online

Property owners can access school tax information through InfoTax Online. Parcels can be searched using a partial search of the property owner name and/or parcel address. In addition to viewing property details and school tax amounts, a payment schedule feature allows payments due to be calculated based upon entering a “Due As Of” calendar date. Please take notice that calculated amounts due, including fees and penalty, are only valid for payments processed during the established school tax collection period. Please allow several days after the date of payment for a paid status to appear in InfoTax.

InfoTax will display school tax payments received and processed by the Hudson City School District Tax Collector during the established tax collection period. Please contact the City of Hudson Treasurer’s Office (City of Hudson parcels) or Columbia County Treasurer’s office to obtain payment status for delinquent school taxes paid through their office.

STAR (School Tax Relief) Exemption

Basic STAR exemption: Most residents who own and live in their home are eligible for the NYS Basic STAR property tax exemption on their primary residence. Basic STAR works by exempting the first $30,000 of the full value of a home from school taxes.

Enhanced STAR exemption: Available for senior citizens (age 65 and older) with yearly household incomes not exceeding the statewide standard. For qualifying senior citizens, the Enhanced STAR program provides additional savings by exempting a greater portion of full value from school taxes.

Click here to learn more about the STAR program or call 518-457-2036.

Important Changes to STAR Exemption Program: New applicants who qualify for STAR must register with New York State instead of applying with their assessor. You will receive a STAR credit in the form of a check rather than receiving a property tax exemption. The dollar value of the credit will be the same as the property tax exemption.

You can register online at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance website.
