AVID Binders (Grs. 6-8)

What is AVID?

AVID is an instructional model to encourage and prepare students for college and career readiness. Each grade level will be teaching students how to be more organized with the use of an AVID binder. Weekly organizational checks will be given to make sure students are staying organized.

What is the AVID Binder?

The AVID binder is a system for keeping school materials and class assignments organized in one binder. A proper AVID binder contains all the required materials listed above. To help with successful implementation of this model, the Junior High will provide all items listed below.

The following AVID binder materials will be provided by Hudson Junior High School:

  • 1.5 or 2 inch Binder
  • Tab Dividers
  • Pencil Pouch
  • Agenda Book
  • 1 pack loose leaf paper (100 sheets)

The Hudson Junior High School will be implementing a school-wide AVID binder system to develop learners who can self-direct, self-evaluate, self-monitor, and self-advocate.  All students in grades 6, 7, and 8 will be required to maintain their school binder following the AVID binder model.
