While the Executive Order 202.26 dispenses with the requirement for candidates to obtain a minimum number of signatures on petitions, it does not modify the statutory duty for candidates to file a petition no later than 30 days before the election.

Since 30 days before June 9, 2020 falls on a Sunday (May 10, 2020), by operation of law, the new deadline for candidates seeking to run for office is May 11, 2020 at 5 p.m. Candidates should complete the top portion of the petition indicating their name and address. Petitions may be accepted via electronic means. Candidates may also submit a letter or email declaring their intent to run with their name and address, provided it is received no later than May 11, 2020 at 5 p.m.

Nominating petitions and/or letters of intent can be submitted to Leslie Coons, Clerk of the Board, at coonslx@hudsoncsd.org.

Candidate names will be placed on the ballot in alphabetical order instead of drawing lots.
