At the Board of Education meeting on March 15, 2022, Sage Carter announced her intention to resign for personal reasons prior to the end of her term, effective May 17, 2022. The remainder of Ms. Carter’s term (May 17, 2022, through June 30, 2023) will be included on the May 2022 election ballot along with the four open seats previously announced.

2022 Board of Education Election

The Hudson City School District Board of Education has five (5) seats up for election this spring:

  • Three seats are full three-year terms effective July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025.
  • Two seats are the remaining terms of Carrie Otty and Sage Carter, who resigned for personal reasons prior to the end of their terms. Both terms are effective the day of the vote, May 17, 2022, through June 30, 2023.

Nominating petitions are now available for anyone interested in running for an open seat on the school board. Learn more about what school boards do.

To get a nominating petition, please contact Tracy Gaffney, District Clerk, at 518-828-4360 (ext. 2101) or by email at districtclerk@hudsoncsd.org. Completed nominating petitions must be returned to Ms. Gaffney in the District Office by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 (215 Harry Howard Ave, Hudson).

To be a member of the HCSD Board of Education, prospective candidates must have a primary residence within the Hudson City School District, be at least 18 years old and be a registered voter.
