Leanna O’Grady of Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center visited Mrs. McCagg’s Hudson Junior High School Life Skills class and talked to students about the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. The class acted out how the sun, earth, and moon line up using different sized objects and a flashlight. The students made their own moveable eclipse diagrams and measured out in the hallway how an eclipse looks, along with the distance between the sun, earth, and moon.

Additionally, the class looked at a simulation of what the eclipse will look like in Hudson, New York and compared it to what it would look like in Syracuse, New York. Students were presented the opportunity to try on eclipse glasses and were given their own glasses to wear! #HudsonTogetherWeCan
