PDF:3-27-24 Letter: Recap on Increased Police Presence on 3-26-24

Dear Hudson City School District Community,

Earlier this week, the Hudson City School District was notified by law enforcement of an alleged threat to the District that was made on a social media platform. School families, faculty and staff were notified quickly of the developments as soon as accurate information was received. As a precaution, the District had an increased police presence on campus on March 26, 2024.

The Hudson City Police Department released two statements on its Facebook page notifying the public of its investigation and findings.

The Hudson City Police Department and the District strongly encourage anyone with additional information into the alleged threat, or any similar incidents, to contact the Hudson City Police Department’s Detective’s Division at 518-828-3388. In situations like this, it is important to report anything concerning or threatening to the proper authorities, such as school principals, Central Office administrators or law enforcement.

The District thanks all law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation, as well as the school community for its patience and understanding. The incident is under  investigation, so the District cannot comment further at this time. Please know that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are top priorities.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Dr. Juliette Pennyman

Superintendent of Schools

Hudson City School District
