The following is a letter from Superintendent Dr. Lisamarie Spindler in regard to the attendance of K-8 students at SHS athletic contests.

Jan. 12, 2023

Dear Students and Families,

Recently, I put out a friendly reminder that all Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School and Hudson Junior High School (K-8) students will require an adult to accompany them to all future Senior High School athletic events. I would like to emphasize that the adult must be a parent/guardian for each student and the parent/guardian must stay for the duration of the contest.

Modified sports student-athletes are allowed to attend athletic events without the attendance of a parent/guardian as long as they follow the Code of Conduct and understand that the privilege of attending can be revoked. Athletic Director Shawn Briscoe and I feel it is important for the younger student-athletes to be in attendance to support and learn from the Varsity and Junior Varsity student-athletes.

We cannot wait to see you show that #HudsonHasHeart and your Bluehawk spirit! Go Bluehawks!

Sincerely,

Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Lisamarie Spindler
