Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures (2020-21)

UPDATED September 21, 2020

Please help us ensure a safe and smooth arrival/dismissal each day by following the drop off and pick up procedures outlined below. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the MCSES main office at 518-828-4360.

Morning Drop Off

Drop off begins at 7:50 a.m. Students may not be dropped off earlier. If you have extenuating circumstances that require you to drop off your child earlier than the time listed, please reach out to us for a possible accommodation (Adrianne Blanks, Attendance Clerk, at 518-828-4360 ext. 1110 or blanksa@hudsoncsd.org). All students need to be in their classroom by 8:25 a.m.

Students should be dropped off at the front of the building, using only the first lane, closest to the school (see image below). The outer lanes are meant for staff parking. It is for the safety of our students that we request they not cross these lanes. Please use the inside lane only, closest to the school.

Afternoon Pick Up

Pick up for Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten students will occur in the front of the building at the following times:

Grades 1-5 will begin dismissal at 2:35 p.m. in the back of the building. The parent/guardian must park in a designated parking spot. Parents are not allowed in the bus loop until 2:40 p.m. Siblings who are picked up will be dismissed with the youngest grade (includes Pre-K). See image and instructions below.

pick up locations

Once parked, send a text message with the following information to the phone number on the sign: your name, your child(ren)’s name and your parking spot. All parking spots will be labeled so you will know which spot you are in. Signs will be posted in the parking lot with directions and a phone number to text. If you do not have a cell phone to text from, please park your car and a staff member will check in with you.

A staff member will escort your child(ren) to your car.

If you are walking to pick up your child(ren), you will need to text the school at a specific number as well. Wait in the designated area labeled “Walker Pick Up Area,” also located in the back of the building. If you do not have a cell phone to text from, wait in the designated area and a staff member will check in with you.

Afterschool Program Pick Up

Afterschool Program pick up will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the back entrance. Parents/guardians should park in the back upper parking lot (see image above) and walk down the stairs to the rear entrance of the school where a staff member will greet you at the door. Please wait outside while a staff member brings your child(ren) to you. Once your child(ren) arrives, you will be asked to sign them out.

Making Changes to Your Child’s Afternoon Dismissal/Transportation Plans

At this time, no changes to morning or afternoon transportation plans will be permitted. Given the current circumstances, a change in one child’s transportation could impact many aspects of our safety plan. Your understanding is appreciated.
