K-5 Remote Learning

Login and Passwords

  • If your child is in Grades 1-5 and they do not remember their login and password, please contact the MCSES main office at 518-828-4360.
  • In-person students entering Kindergarten will get their login information through their classroom teacher when they begin school.

Google Classroom

  • All teachers (in-person & virtual) will have a Google Classroom. Get help navigating Google Classroom and other apps.
  • Log into your child’s email to see the request from the teacher to join the Classroom.
  • If there is not a request to join the teacher’s Google Classroom in your child’s inbox, get the “join code” by emailing the teacher (see the Staff Directory) or call the MCSES main office at 518-828-4360.
  • Use the email invitation or the “join code” to join a Google Classroom.
  • Virtual students will have more than one teacher and Google Classroom.
  • If you have any difficulty joining a Google Classroom, please contact the MCSES main office at 518-828-4360.

If you are still unsure about your child’s teacher, please contact the MCSES main office at 518-828-4360.

Chromebooks

  • Chromebooks were distributed to students in early September. In-person Kindergarten students will receive Chromebooks at school.
  • Grades 2-5 students may bring their Chromebooks to and from school, depending on the teacher. If needed, students should bring Chromebooks home on Tuesdays for remote learning on Wednesdays (as long as the agreement has been signed).

Student Expectations

Remote learning days will follow a schedule similar to a typical school day. On remote learning days, students must log into their Google Classroom(s) at the scheduled time and complete the work/activities assigned in order to be considered present in class that day. Students are required to be engaged in the synchronous (live) activities or they will be marked as absent. Teachers will likely send home a schedule for students to follow on remote learning days. If you do not have reliable internet access at home, please contact the MCSES main office at 518-828-4360.

Students (and family members) should try to limit outside distractions during lessons (such as television, music, loud talking, etc.). If possible, parents/guardians should monitor students and be in the same location as their child to help them if needed.

Students are required to follow our Code of Conduct and act appropriately at all times. Please review this information about being a responsible digital citizen with your child.
