About the Budget Proposal

The annual School Budget Vote & Board of Education Election is on Tuesday, May, 16, 2023, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Residents can vote by absentee ballot or in person at their designated polling location. The Hudson City School District is proposing a budget of $54,509,530 with an estimated 0% tax levy increase (below the 1.39% tax cap).

  • Thursday, March 16, 2023 Community Budget Workshop – Presentation #1 Budget Priorities (presentation of preliminary budget forecast and proposed budget assumptions)
  • Tuesday, March 28, 2023 Community Budget Workshop – Presentation #2 3-Part Budget and Tax
  • Friday, March 31, 2023 Applications for absentee ballots available from the District Office
  • Tuesday, April 4, 2023 Community Budget Workshop – Presentation #3 Revenues (review proposed budget and modify, if needed)
  • Tuesday, April 18, 2023 Superintendent’s Recommended Budget/Budget Detail (final draft of proposed budget presented to BOE for approval and adoption)
  • Wednesday, April 26, 2023 School Board Nominating Petitions due to District Clerk by 5pm, copies of 2023-24 Proposed Budget (Budget Book) available to the public
  • Thursday, April 27, 2023 (4-8 pm, MCSES new gym) Voter Registration Day (please bring photo ID)
  • Tuesday, May 2, 2023 (6 pm, HHS Library) – PUBLIC HEARING for proposed budget; last day to register to vote
  • Tuesday, May 16, 2023 (11am-8pm, various polling locations) Budget Vote and Election
