Energy Performance Contract (EPC) – Improving efficiency while reducing long-term costs
The Energy Performance Contract focuses on energy-efficient and environmentally responsible improvements designed to reduce energy use and operating costs while improving the performance of our facilities. Projects may include updated lighting, new boilers, and other energy-saving improvements. The EPC agreement allows Hudson CSD to take budgeted utility and operational costs and re-allocate them into energy-saving capital improvements without the need for increased taxes. The project includes fifteen (15) energy conservation measures in both school buildings.
Lighting Upgrades
Lighting improvements were completed over the summer, converting the district to 100% LED technology. The upgraded lighting systems improve energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and provide better-quality lighting throughout our facilities.
Sept. 15 Update: Lighting is complete at both campuses. Attic stock has arrived.

New Boiler Systems
Older boiler equipment was replaced with newer, more efficient systems designed to improve building performance and reduce energy costs. At the Jr./Sr. High School, the 1969-era steam boiler plant was demolished and removed, and a new high-efficiency hot water heating system was installed.
Oct. 5 Update: Boilers piped to boiler loop and house pumps. Pressure testing and cleaning of new pipe has been completed. Permanent breaching due for all 3 boilers mid-October.
