On Monday morning, the Hudson City School District was made aware of a comment a student had made on Friday while riding the afternoon bus. The junior high school student reportedly told a peer that they planned to bring a gun to school. As soon as this information was reported to us on Monday, the district immediately contacted law enforcement and has been working closely with the Hudson City Police Department to provide full support. The investigation is ongoing, but the student in question is not and will not be in attendance until the police have determined that this is not a credible threat.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff is always our top priority. We take all reports of potential threats very seriously and remain committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for everyone in our schools.
We continue to encourage students, families, and staff to promptly report any concerns that may impact school safety. As always, the district will work hand-in-hand with local law enforcement to address these situations swiftly and responsibly.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Principal Kenneth Behr behrk@hudsoncsd.org or Associate Principal Carrie Patch patchc@hudsoncsd.org
