Welcome to Superintendent Dr. Juliette Pennyman’s bi-weekly update for the community: Pennyman’s Pen!

2025-26 Budget, Capital Project, Board of Education, and EPC Vote

The Hudson City School District’s 2025-2026 School Budget & Election will be on May 20, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. School district voters will have five opportunities to shape the issues vital to the Hudson City School District. Voters will be asked to approve the following:

    • Elect three (3) members of the seven-member Board of Education. Each seat is a three-year term beginning on July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028.
    • A school district budget in the amount of $58,544,000 for the 2025-2026 school year. The spending plan, if approved by voters, would maintain all student programs and services. It would also ensure continued investments in classroom instruction.
    • A bond resolution to fund a Capital Project in the amount of $8,345,000. (No cost to local taxpayers.)
    • A resolution for the school district to gain an additional 10 percent in State Aid from an Energy Performance Contract. (No cost to local taxpayers.)

2025 Capital Project

The Hudson City School District is working to improve its buildings by making upgrades that will enhance safety, increase energy efficiency, and replace old, worn-out parts. Keeping older buildings in good shape can be expensive, so by investing in these improvements now, we will better serve our students and community for many years.
