Letter from the District
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Hudson City School District is pleased to announce that Mrs. Jill Hanley has been named Associate Principal at Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School. She was appointed at a Board of Education meeting Tuesday night, and she will be slowly transitioning into her new role as the District finds her replacement as a third-grade teacher.
Mrs. Hanley has been an integral part of the Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School community for many years, serving as a third grade teacher and on many committees. During this time, she has proven to be an invaluable asset to the District in numerous ways:
Educational Excellence: Mrs. Hanley has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to engage students and foster a love for learning. Her innovative teaching methods have improved academic performance and inspired creativity and critical thinking among our students.
Leadership and Mentorship: As a senior teaching staff member, she has taken on numerous leadership roles. She has also been an outstanding mentor to new teachers, helping to cultivate a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within our faculty.
Student Advocacy: Throughout her tenure, Jill has been a tireless advocate for student well-being and success. Her efforts in implementing individualized learning plans, and creating support programs for at-risk students have made a significant impact on our students’ academic and personal growth.
These qualities, combined with her dedication to our students’ success and strong leadership skills, have made her an ideal candidate for the role of Associate Principal.
The Hudson City School District is confident that Mrs. Hanley’s transition to this new role will further enhance the District’s educational mission and benefit the entire community. Her wealth of experience and deep understanding of the elementary school’s culture will be instrumental in driving continued excellence and innovation.
Please join us in congratulating Jill Hanley on this well-deserved promotion. If you have any questions or would like to extend your congratulations personally, please feel free to contact the Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School office.
