Dear Hudson City School District community,
As we conclude the 2022-2023 school year, I want to thank you for your partnership in striving for the best for our students’ futures, and for the trust you placed in us to provide welcoming schools where children and young adults can learn and grow.
We have made great strides toward enhancing safety and security, on all levels, in our schools. The initiatives we have enacted, and others being implemented and planned, will advance how Hudson City School District schools address and respond to situations appropriately and effectively.
Most importantly, our initiatives in social and emotional learning and other areas help our students grow into more responsible, empathetic and caring individuals. They, and our dedicated faculty and staff, are at the heart of positive, supportive and creative environments in our schools.
Also invaluable are our Safety and Advisory Committee and our active participation in regional seminars and discussions on school safety. Our administrators and faculty members have been thorough and diligent in gaining valuable insights on a variety of safety and security topics at these sessions. Those discussions continued today with our district wide safety meeting, which covered topics such as EpiPens, fire inspections and lockdowns.
As you know, I will leave this district at the end of this month. But I am confident that the safety initiatives we have orchestrated will continue, and that the Hudson City School District will reap the rewards of strategic initiatives to create schools that foster appealing environments to experience the joy of learning and exploration.
Your feedback is always welcome at safety@hudsoncsd.org. I wish you all a great summer filled with rest, relaxation and fun. Again, thank you for your partnership.
Dr. Lisamarie Spindler
