Dear Hudson Families,

I hope this message finds you enjoying your summer. I am pleased to share that the District successfully hired several new building administrators to complete our leadership team after Mr. Derek Reardon permanently transitioned to the high school principal role and Dr. Trini Hernandez accepted the position of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Manager.

In August, we will welcome a new principal and associate principal at Hudson Junior High School, as well as new associate principals at Hudson Senior High School and Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School:

  • Rhode Octobre-Cooper, HJHS Principal (appointed on July 26th, anticipated start date August 29th)
  • Tyme Baez, HJHS Associate Principal (appointed on July 26th, anticipated start date August 1st)
  • Amanda Greene, HHS Associate Principal (appointed on April 26th, anticipated start date August 23rd)
  • Kristen Strothmann, MCSES Associate Principal (appointed on July 26th, anticipated start date August 29th)

Together these new school leaders have more than 50 years of teaching and administrative experience from school systems across the state. We are looking forward to the wealth of experience and diversity they will bring to our school community. More information about Ms. Cooper, Mr. Baez, Ms. Greene, and Ms. Strothmann will be shared in the coming weeks to help you learn more about them.

Mr. Ian MacCormack will return to his role as associate principal at Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School for the upcoming school year after stepping in as interim principal at the junior high school this past spring. Mr. Shawn Briscoe, who has been serving as the interim Dean of Students at Hudson Junior High School since early 2020, will return to his Physical Education teaching position however he will be at Hudson Senior High School instead of his previous location at the elementary school. We are grateful for the support and assistance Mr. MacCormack and Mr. Briscoe provided to our students, staff, and families during these transitions.

This is an exciting and invigorating time for our district. I know there are still a few weeks left of summer vacation, but we’re already looking forward to kicking off the 2022-23 school year and getting to work with our new leadership team. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact my office at 518-828-4360 ext. 2101.

In Collaboration,

Dr. Lisamarie Spindler
