Dear Parents and Guardians,

We recently informed you that high school principal Robert LaCasse accepted a new position and will be leaving the district on May 1st. At its meeting on April 5th, the Board of Education appointed Derek Reardon as the interim principal for Hudson Senior High School effective May 2, 2022. Mr. LaCasse will remain available to assist high school students and families through the end of this month.

Many of you are familiar with Mr. Reardon, who has been the principal at Hudson Junior High School since 2009. Starting on Monday, May 2nd, HHS students and families can reach out to Mr. Reardon if needed at 518-828-4360 ext. 3100 or reardond@hudsoncsd.org.

While Mr. Reardon supports the high school during this leadership transition, Ian MacCormack, who currently serves as an associate principal at Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School, will serve as the interim principal at the junior high school. Mr. MacCormack was appointed to this interim position at the April 5th Board meeting.

Mr. MacCormack will be a familiar face to many junior high school students. Starting on Monday, May 2nd, JHS students and families can reach out to Mr. MacCormack if needed at 518-828-4360 ext. 8100 or maccormacki@hudsoncsd.org.

At MCSES, Principal Mark Brenneman and Associate Principal Dr. Trini Hernandez will continue to manage the daily administrative duties while Mr. MacCormack serves as interim junior high school principal.

These administration changes are temporary while we continue the search for candidates to permanently fill the high school principal position. We are eager to find the right candidate to support the district’s commitment to student success, academic rigor, and family engagement. We will keep you informed throughout this process. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the District Office at 518-828-4360 ext. 2101.

Sincerely,

Dr Lisamarie Spindler
Superintendent of Schools
