Dear Parents/Guardians:

The District was informed of the following cases of COVID-19 within our school community:

  • Two remote high school students – As fully remote students, the individuals have not been on campus and no school contact tracing was necessary.
  • A high school teacher – The individual was last present in school on Friday, January 22nd. Based on the last date in school and the date of the positive test result, no school contact tracing was required (as advised by the DOH).

Please continue to do your part in controlling the spread of COVID-19 in the community by monitoring your family’s health, wearing masks or face coverings, washing your hands, practicing social distancing, avoiding gatherings, staying home if you are sick or awaiting test results, and asking questions if you feel things don’t seem right. Know the symptoms of COVID-19 and how to identify them in yourself and others, particularly the loss of taste or smell as that is considered a primary indicator of COVID-19 in asymptomatic individuals. If you have questions or need to report a COVID-19 related health issue, please contact your child’s principal or school nurse.

As always, the health and safety of our students and staff is a top priority. Thank you for your continued support of our schools and your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Dr. Maria Lagana Suttmeier, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
