The Hudson City School District is proud to share that Dr. Maria Lagana Suttmeier, Superintendent of Schools, was recognized on the list of 100 Women Making a Difference in Columbia County by the Columbia County Women’s Alliance. The list, which was first announced in December 2020, also recognizes longtime HCSD Board member, Sage Carter.

In addition to Dr. Suttmeier and Ms. Carter, the list of 100 Women Making a Difference in Columbia County includes numerous HCSD alumnae such as:

  • Jabin Ahmed (Class of 2011)
  • Jarin Ahmed (Class of 2014)
  • Atia Begh (Class of 2015)
  • Farzana Musomi (Class of 2013, Tech Valley)
  • Lisa Dolan (Class of 1978)
  • Gloria Martinez (Class of 2008)
  • Nancy Smith (Class of 1968)

We know this list of amazing women includes even more Hudson graduates so the community is encouraged to contact us and let us know the names and graduation years of other HCSD alumnae recognized. Please email communications@hudsoncsd.org with the honoree’s name and year of graduation from Hudson High School so we can update this post with more alumnae.

The Columbia County Women’s Alliance established the list of 100 Women Making a Difference in Columbia County to acknowledge and celebrate local women in honor of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote in federal elections.
