Dear Eighth Grade Families,

First, let me say I hope you and your family are safe and healthy as you read this letter. While COVID-19 has resulted in the closure of schools throughout the state and around the country, we recognize the impact on our 8th grade students who are forced to forego exciting ceremonies that commemorate and celebrate their hard work. I understand that right now you may be feeling a tremendous sense of loss, frustration and uncertainty at what should be one of the most exciting times of your child’s educational career. Unfortunately, in an effort to honor social distancing recommendations, I had to make the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Moving Up ceremony to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families, which continues to be our highest priority.

Instead we will make a slideshow listing our 8th grade students Moving Up, which will also include all the awards we typically hand out during our Moving Up Ceremony. The slideshow will be posted to the district website and the Hudson Junior High School Facebook group on Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m.

Awards and certificates will be available to be picked up on Wednesday, June 17 from noon to 6 p.m., which is the same time we are collecting 8th grade school belongings. If you cannot make it we will be mailing awards and certificates home. I appreciate your cooperation and support during these trying times.

Sincerely,

Mr. Reardon
Hudson JHS Principal
