The Scrub Club at HHS participated in a brief “Stop the Bleed” training with one of our School Resource Officers, Deputy Sohotra.

The goal of the training was to show students how they can prevent traumatic bleeding during emergencies such as natural disasters and auto accidents. It can take up to 15 minutes or more for first responders to arrive, especially in rural areas, so knowing how to best apply pressure and how to correctly use a tourniquet can be life-saving in some cases.

Deputy Sohotra and Scrub Club advisor, Mrs. Forsyth, demonstrated the proper use of a tourniquet before the students got to practice on each other.
