Students paddle a cardboard boat across the poolStudents in the Transportation Systems classes at Hudson High School and Ichabod Crane High School participated in a fun competition called The Great Cardboard Boat Race. Cole Moon, a Technology teacher at ICC, reached out to HHS Technology teacher, Jack Beyer, to organize the event.

The classes were tasked with building boats using only cardboard, duct tape, Elmer’s glue and plastic bottles. The boats had to hold two people who then had to paddle the length of the HHS pool. Spectators joined to cheer on both teams. Achieving the fastest time of 34.06 seconds, Hudson was declared the winner and received a trophy.

“This was a great learning experience for the students and a lot of fun,” said Mr. Beyer. See more photos on our Facebook page >>
