psychology students work with a childMrs. Abitable used real-world examples to illustrate psychology concepts known as Piaget’s cognitive development theory. She brought her children, Ellis and Gavin, to the Psychology 101 class to help students learn about the cognitive stages of development, such as “self-concept.”

The students conducted a series of tests with Ellis (age 19 months) and Gavin (age 4 years 9 months) to determine in which stage of Piaget’s cognitive development theory the children currently are.
